Ross Friedmann

Er war eine Legende des Heavy Metal, ein Mann, dessen Gitarrenriffs ganze Generationen begeisterten. Bereits Mitte der 1970er Jahre schrieb er mit The Dictators Musikgeschichte: Ihr Debütalbum „Go Girl Crazy!“ erschien 1975. 1980 wechselte Friedman ins Heavy-Metal-Lager und wurde Gitarrist bei Manowar. Neun Jahre lang spielte er auf Klassikern wie „Battle Hymns”, „Into Glory Ride” und „Hail To England” mit. 1988 verließ er die Band nach dem Album „Kings of Metal“. Später gründete er sein eigenes Soloprojekt „Ross The Boss“ sowie die Band „Death Dealer“. 2017 wurde Friedman in die Metal Hall of Fame aufgenommen – als „Globaler Metal-Botschafter“. Ein Titel, der seinem Lebenswerk gerecht wird.
He was a legend of heavy metal, a man whose guitar riffs inspired entire generations. As early as the mid-1970s, he was making music history with The Dictators: their debut album "Go Girl Crazy!" was released in 1975. In 1980, Friedman switched to the heavy metal scene and became the guitarist for Manowar. For nine years, he played on classics such as “Battle Hymns”, “Into Glory Ride” and “Hail To England”. In 1988, he left the band following the album “Kings of Metal”. He later founded his own solo project, “Ross The Boss”, as well as the band “Death Dealer”. In 2017, Friedman was inducted into the Metal Hall of Fame – as a “Global Metal Ambassador”. A title that does justice to his life’s work.
