James Tolkan

Seine Filmkarriere begann in den 1960er-Jahren, als er in der Serie „Naked City“ vor der Kamera stand. Tolkan prägte das Bild des strengen Lehrers wie kaum ein anderer. In allen drei Teilen von „Zurück in die Zukunft“ zeigte er seine markante Ausstrahlung. Auch im Actionklassiker „Top Gun“ beeindruckte er als Commander „Stinger“. Insgesamt stand er in 80 Film- und Fernsehproduktionen vor der Kamera und spielte zumeist in Nebenrollen strenge oder einschüchternde Charaktere mit einem Hauch von Zynismus. Mit seiner letzten Filmrolle im Western „Bone Tomahawk” im Jahr 2015 beendete er eine bemerkenswerte Karriere.
