Mel Schilling

Seit 2016 war sie fester Bestandteil der Show, beriet Paare als Psychologin und Dating-Expertin und wurde schnell zum Publikumsliebling. Noch vor wenigen Tagen sprach Mel Schilling offen über ihr Schicksal. Der 2023 diagnostizierte Darmkrebs ist aggressiver als je zuvor zurückgekehrt. Zwei Jahre lang unterzog sie sich einer Chemotherapie, während sie weiterhin vor der Kamera stand. Zunächst wurde ein Tumor entfernt und sie galt als geheilt. Doch dann der nächste Schock: Metastasen in der Lunge, später auch im Gehirn. Kurz vor ihrem Tod schrieb sie selbst: „Mein Licht beginnt zu erlöschen – und zwar schnell.“
She had been a regular feature of the show since 2016, advising couples as a psychologist and dating expert, and quickly became a favourite with the audience. Just a few days ago, Mel Schilling spoke openly about her situation. The bowel cancer she was diagnosed with in 2023 has returned more aggressively than ever. For two years she underwent chemotherapy whilst continuing to appear on camera. Initially, a tumour was removed and she was considered cured. But then came the next shock: metastases in her lungs, and later in her brain too. Shortly before her death, she wrote: “My light is beginning to fade – and fast.”
