Er war der Leadsänger der Rockband „3 Doors Down“. Arnold gründete die Band Mitte der 1990er Jahre mit seinen Schulfreunden Matt Roberts und Todd Harrell in seiner Heimatstadt Escatawpa, Mississippi. International bekannt wurden sie im Jahr 2000 mit ihrer Debütsingle „Kryptonite“. Das Lied wurde für einen Grammy nominiert. Das Debütalbum „The Better Life“ von 3 Doors Down verkaufte sich mehr als sechs Millionen Mal. In Deutschland machten sich 3 Doors Down 2001 mit der Single „Here Without You“ einen Namen. Weitere Hits waren Songs wie „When I'm Gone“, „Let Me Go“ und „It's Not My Time“. Die Band veröffentlichte insgesamt sechs Alben, zuletzt „Us And The Night“ im Jahr 2016.

He was the lead singer of the rock band 3 Doors Down. Arnold formed the band with his school friends Matt Roberts and Todd Harrell in his hometown of Escatawpa, Mississippi in the mid-1990s. The song was nominated for a Grammy. 3 Doors Down's debut album "The Better Life" sold more than six million copies. 3 Doors Down made a name for themselves in Germany in 2001 with the single “Here Without You”.
